The Hilton Hotel Rome Airport Is connected to the terminal building with certain rooms offering limited views of the domestic terminal and taxiways.


Location ***. Connected to the airport terminal by walkway. No more than a 5 minute walk to all terminals. The multi storey car park is only a 2 minute walk which gives limited views of the domestic area. Around 80% of the traffic can be seen be walking through the terminals and from the multi storey car park.


Spotting ** Any rooms on 3rd-5th floor ending in the range 004-012 should give limited views of the domestic apron and lead off taxiway although movements are distant (50% success rate with a pair of 10x50 bins. More success would be possible with an SBS 1 unit !


Photos Not possible from the hotel room. Limited options from the car park although not recommended due to the tight security at this airport.


Value * Very expensive . Prices from £80-£115 a room.

ROME CIAMPINO
 
The Best Western Hotel Giardino D'Europa is situated just 3 miles away from Ciampino Airport and is a quick 10 minute taxi ride. The hotel is directly underneath the flightpath, and from the balcony windows the aircraft can be read off with ease. A direct shuttle bus links the hotel with the airport between the hours of 7am and 11pm. If you need to make use of this service then contact the hotel at least 24 hours prior to arrival to arrange times. For anyone wishing to do some sightseeing the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to Anagnina station which gives access to all destinations in Rome.
 
Location  ***  Being underneath the flight path makes this an attractive option.
 
Spotting   *** Everything can be seen from the hotel at this increasingly busy airport.
 
Photos    *    No reports, however being so close to the flightpath means that there is a possibility for photos.
 
Value      *    A twin room costs approximately £95 per night.
