The Sunway Airport Hotel Shenzen is located directly opposite the terminal and is only a short 5 minute walk away or an even quicker free shuttle bus ride. Ask for a room that is an even number (from 12-32) on the third floor or higher for the best views. From here you will have views of the northern part of the apron, and the northern part of the only runway. Make sure you have a telescope or a good pair of binoculars with you, as the views are quite distant. Reports suggest that in the afternoon the position of the sun can make reading aircraft off somewhat more difficult. Expect to read aircraft off easier in the morning and even at night. The hotel has its own western type sports bar that serves food, and also a coffee shop catering for both Chinese and western tastes!
