Plane spotting Zurich Airport, Zurich spotters

The Hotel Welcome Inn comes highly recommended by many spotters. Located in the village of Kloten just 2km from Zurich Airport, this hotel offers attractive prices with a good location. Although no views of the airport are possible from the hotel, the airport is just a 20 minute walk away. A free courtesy shuttle bus is available for those who aren't feeling energetic. The hotel has a couple of restaurants although there are Italian and Chinese restaurants very nearby the hotel.

Location ** Good location for spotters to base themselves at. Only 20 minutes form the hotel to being on the spectators terrace.

Spotting * No views from the rooms. Only a 15 minute walk to multi storey car park F located near the threshold of runway 28, which is the usual departure runway.

The Park Inn is situated on the perimeter of Zurich Airport with a free hotel shuttle bus to the airport.

Location ** Good location on the perimeter of the airfield. A McDonalds adjoins the hotel for your fast food! Free internet is provided near to reception where you can log onto the Zurich Airport website which provides the reg's of most movements.

Spotting *** Ask for a room overlooking the airport.Room 401 has been reported as having a reasonable view over the airport, with the aid of SBS most movements can be identified.

Photos ** No reports but I guess that you would need a good zoom for any resonable photos. A 10 minute walk takes you to a good photographic point on the perimeter.

Value ** A room from around £70 a night

The NH Zuerich-Airport Hotel is found just 2km away from the airport in the village of Glattbrugg. No actual reports are available on the spotting opportunities from this airport, however looking on the map the hotel appears to be on or near the departure path for runway 16, which is the main departure runway for the long haul flights. The hotel does offer a courtesy shuttle bus to and from the airport and the hotel has its own restaurant available.
