THe Hotel Alexandra
is located in the centre of the family resort of
Can Pastilla. With the golden beach just a 1 minute walk
away and only 3 miles from Palma Airport
this hotel is an attractive option. When booking ask for a top
floor room. Numbers 601 / 602 and 613 / 614 / 615 / 616 offer
views of the general aviation and cargo aprons. This hotel is
regarded by many as the one which gives you the best overall
view of the airport if you secure the correct room overlooking
the airport.
Location ** ideal for all the
resorts bars and restaurants and just a 10 minute walk to the
beach at the end of 06L. The hotel also offers a good size pool
and is ideal for familys been only a short walk from the beach.
Spotting *** some
great views
are available from the room numbers quoted above (601 been the
favoured room). Many movements will be able to be read off, with
SBS you will get them all.
Photos * little or no
opportunity from the hotel, however only a 10 minute walk for
great landing shots.

is located off the end of threshold 06R at Palma. Good views can be had from the balcony's of the airport facing rooms on the 5th floor (eg room 541).
***PLEASE NOTE Views are only available from the hotel NOT
the apartment block therefore ensure that you are booking a room
in the hotel and not the apartment.
Location ** Ideal for families, the beach is a 2 minute walk from the hotel. The airport is a 10 minute driver away.Spotting *** Set yourself up on the balcony and you will read off most arrivals on runway 24L. A good telescope (or ACARS/SBS1) is required to read off departures off rw 24R. Good vies can be had of the freight and GA aprons.
Photos * A good 400 lens will get very limited shots of any aircraft lining up on RW 06R
