Stayed at the Amari in room 4025 good room with nothing missed but that could all change soon as they are building a new 3 level road in front of the hotel which will restrict the view somewhat but it is only a short walk to the viewing area in terminal 1 level 4.
There is also a food hall on level 4 with meals around £2.50.
Could not fault the hotel in any way, breakfast, great choices, staff great.

I stayed at the Don Muang Bangkok Airport Modern Hotel, about ten minutes walk from the airport. That walk is something of a steeplechase, especially if you are hauling a suitcase over the narrow, busy pedestrian bridge. There is a busy road to cross, also. Despite the pedestrian crossing it feels chancy. The hotel is clean and cool. There is no restaurant or breakfast, but there is plenty of grub in the airport and a large 7-Eleven on suicide corner. Cheap; I paid $50 per night.

staying at the Amari hotel at the moment in room 4014, the new 2 story road is nearly finished but not quite open, it does restrict the view but if you look out to the left of your window you can see all arrivals and look out right of your window you can see all departures so not so bad as I thought it would be before I arrived here, if you want a closer look at the aircraft or want to take photos the viewing area is only a 10 minute walk away across the sky walk from the hotel and is on level 4 of the terminal, the hotel itself is great, rooms are lovely and staff very friendly, breakfast and evening meals are buffet and there is also an American grill restaurant inside the hotel which is where had my evening meal last night, a starter and a nice steak was about £25, I cant really fault this hotel but if I was going to be picky there is no coffee or tea making facilities in your room but starbucks coffee outlet is once again just over the skywalk. would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
