Plane Spotting Venice

Carnival Palace Hotel
Carnival Palace Hotel is an ideal hotel for couples looking to enjoy Venice as well as have a view of traffic into and out of the airport.
Location: * Carnival Palace is a brand-new 4 star hotel offering ultra-modern rooms with
wood floors and free Wi-Fi. Set in Venice’s Jewish Ghetto area, it is 10
metres from the Tre Archi Vaporetto water bus stop.
Rooms are soundproofed and come with an advanced air ventilation system. You
will also have a TV, minibar and en suite bathroom with hairdryer.
Water taxi’s from airport (approx 20 min journey) stop
outside hotel.A full American breakfast is served each morning.

Carnival Palace Hotel is less than 10 minutes’ walk from Venice Santa Lucia
Train Station. It is well connected to St. Mark’s Square by the Vaporetto
water bus lines 5.1, 5.2, and 4.2.

Spotting: * All aircraft on approach into Venice Marco Polo at approx height
of 1500feet can be clearly seen descending over rooftops and canal on final
approach. Windows of room open inwards allowing distant photographs to be
taken. Stayed in room 220 which is a very modern well appointed room facing
onto canal and all landing traffic can be seen. If booking ask for room on
2nd floor facing onto canal and should not be disappointed. SBS is a must
for identifying the aircraft. If you exit hotel and turn right and walk to
end of canal good landing shots can be had with a 300-400 lens.
Photos: * As above.
Value: * Expensive at around £145 per night
