Plane Spotting Orlando

Hyatt Regency

Location: *** Located in the terminal itself.
Spotting: *** Specify a runway facing room and the views are excellent. As the hotel is central you are only able to view one side of the airport from the rooms. The hotel pool area gives very good views of the Easterly runways and also distant views of the westerlies. The airport multi storey car parks are also just a short walk away.
Photos: ** Limited shots from the room. Better opportunities from the hotel pool and multi storey car parks.
Value: * Prices starting from £90 a room per night.
Book:   Prices can be found through the AGODA website

For a listing of most airport hotels in the area click here Of course the real attraction of Orlando are the theme parks. The hotels at International drive are a 20 minute drive from the airport however there are no views of the airport. The resort of Kissimee are nearby to the Disney parks entrances however the International Airport is around a 30-40 drive away. Kissimee does have its own small airport which gets the occasional bizz jet and at a recent visit had 5 Shorts 360 s in stoarge as well as an excellent war bird museum. For a list of Kissimmee Hotels please CLICK HERE

The pictures from the Holiday Inn Orlando are definitely not from Orlando.

I am currently staying in the La Quinta Airport North and can say with certainty that the odd numbered rooms face the airport. The even numbered rooms face north. Also this hotel is far enough from the airport and in between the approach paths that you would need at least a 400mm lens to get any good shots. I would not stay here again.
